More and more video games are appearing in our modern living rooms thanks to large screen TVs, Xbox, and Augmented reality. What if we could take all that out into the real world, I mean to say back outside where it all began? What if we could bring that experience onto the court? Let's take the sport of squash for a moment. What if the backboard was made of carbon composite, perhaps carbon nanotubes with graftene coatings? Since these materials conduct electricity, they might also be formatted to work like a giant computer screen, a little flexible, but as strong as steel.
In the case of squash, that extra flexibility could also help return the squash ball back to the player with more force. This would make the game more exciting. And if the squash board could display full featured videos, it might also display targets at intervals during the play. This would allow the player to receive simulated training of where to place the shot based on various techniques and strategies. It might also be used to score a player's level of play, giving them extra bonus points when they hit moving objects, or you could turn it into a real-life Xbox game.

Why do I think this is needed? Because the game of squash has lost its appeal with the next up-and-coming generation, that is to say fewer people, especially in the United States are playing the sport anymore. That is a shame because the sport requires agility, skill, talent, and fast thinking. All the components and attributes of the top sports that humans have played, will play, and enjoy. It's unfortunate that in one generation such a great sport could be lost. Perhaps, making these innovative changes could add excitement to the game and bring back players in droves while attracting a new breed of players, younger, faster, and incredibly agile.
Would any of this be very difficult you ask? Absolutely not - additionally, these types of sports when played by those who are highly athletic keeps them fit and trim, and out of the onset diabetes zone. Further, sports like this can be played on a ship, in small spaces of high density in the city, or perhaps even in a future lunar or Mars colony.
There's no reason this sport should die now, not with all the potential technologies which can be weaved into new formats of the game. It's time to take squash to a higher level, that is why I am proposing a new self-scoring squash computer system for more fun and excitement.
